Shatta Wale’s highly anticipated Shattafest UK 2026 was temporarily suspended on Saturday after several fans reportedly fainted during the event, prompting an emergency response from police, paramedics and other safety officials.
Organisers had reportedly notified emergency services to prepare for a crowd of around 100,000, but attendance is said to have far exceeded expectations, creating overcrowding concerns. Emergency personnel quickly moved in to attend to those who had passed out, while authorities worked to restore order before the event could continue.
The incident underscores the extraordinary popularity of the Ghanaian dancehall star, whose UK festival drew one of the largest crowds ever associated with a Ghanaian music event abroad. As of now, there have been no confirmed reports of fatalities or life-threatening injuries.
