Mahama Ayariga Introduced His Wife during Vetting - takes people by Surprise

It took Everyone by surprise when the former mijority leaders who has just been appointed by the president as the minister for Local government introduced a sitting member of parliament as the wife.

The moment unfolded during the vetting of Mahama Ayariga before Parliament's Appointments Committee on Thursday, August 27, where he appeared as Minister-designate for Local Government, Chieftaincy and Religious Affairs. Committee Chairman Bernard Ahiafor introduced Ayariga's father-in-law to the room but skipped over his daughter, who was seated quietly among those who had come to support the nominee.

Ayariga responded,

"Mr Chairman, you have introduced the father-in-law, but you haven't introduced the daughter," he said with a laughter and a quick correction from the Chairman.

"We have the spouse, Hon Mrs Ayariga, formerly known as Hon Millicent Yeboah-Amankwah, a Member of Parliament here in our midst," Ahiafor said.

who is Millicent Amankwah Yeboah, She was on born July 22, 1992 and is a Ghanaian politician and a member of the National Democratic Congress (NDC). She is currently the member of parliament for the Sunyani West constituency. She represents the constituency in the Ninth Parliament of the Fourth Republic of Ghana.

she built a career in business management and consultancy, serving as branch manager for Verna Mineral Water and later as Managing Director of MEA Connect Consultants.

Academically, She attended Notre Dame High School, holds qualifications from KNUST and the University of Law in the United Kingdom.

In the Ninth Parliament, she sits on the Employment, Labor Relations and Pensions Committee.
